ENCORE HOTELS: A CASE REPORT

Within a short span of 18 months Encore Hotels has grown from three properties to 18 properties spread over four cities and  has plans to reach 25 by the year end in four more cities.
Solutions provided: The point of sale and materials management for casual dining

and multiple outlets with centralized head office control was installed in Encore Hotels in 2005. The need was to extend
security shell to stores, cost centres and profit centres; monitoring inter outlet and inter store transfer of semi·finished goods; provision to receive non—stock daily purchase items and auto issuing to the cost

centres and proht centres; creation of standing purchase order for rate contracted items; budgeting for consumption heads which helps in cost control and recipe management.

BICA LOUNGE    
 
 

BICA lounge is a 5 star airport lounge currently situated at the Ahmedabad International and Chennai Domestic & International Terminals.

BICA lounge required a POS software solution that could be integrated with a touch screen, but also something that had the ability to take orders over a wireless network. BICA also wanted to improve the customer experience, enabling its guests to have a memorable and stress-free stay.

Furthermore, the company needed the software to be able to collate the data of various BICA lounges across several airports at one central head office location to expedite the Management Information System (MIS) process, and to have a better control over the data entered into the POS system.

Following an intensive evaluation process, BICA chose ShawMan as the IT provider. This was because of ShawMan's keen interest to solve all of BICA's issues, and address all of its business needs.

ShawMan implemented its POS for HO solution along with a PortaPOS solution from its hardware partner. With Microsoft's reputation for quality of products and service, ShawMan also implemented SQL Server for hassle-free data management.
This means that BICA now has a POS solution with a touch screen, along with the PortaPOS that has wireless order taking capabilities. The HO Module allows all data post day end to be collated at the HO for speedy MIS.

Using the HO Module, the BICA lounge can now also control the kind of data entry done, including menu items, prices and staff access rights, as all data is now entered at a central level, which filters down to the individual POS.

The POS billing process is also much more streamlined and user-friendly. Having the PortaPOS has not only added an aura of technological awareness to the lounges, but has also ensured prompt and speedy service to customers and passengers.
